I'm with you on the sweet potatoes, I doubt that there's much of anything in my pots, the plants never got very big so I can't imagine that the roots got big as well.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07812702328134261533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4544358755192295336.post-69977584801071446002016-10-11T15:25:46.732-07:002016-10-11T15:25:46.732-07:00I was surprised my marigolds made it through the f...I was surprised my marigolds made it through the frost, so good for your peppers too! Your ideas had me thinking just for a minute, but I'm pretty sure I'm giving up on the sweet potatoes!Susiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10354350096358468967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4544358755192295336.post-51581555822126636232016-10-11T06:05:19.449-07:002016-10-11T06:05:19.449-07:00Wow - that is one big haul of peppers! They weathered the frost on Sunday night ok and I was going to be pulling them yesterday, but got sidetracked so I just covered up the plants with plastic and will be going through the patch today.

That's too bad about the sweet potatoes - I just pulled mine up yesterday and had pretty much the same results...not that great. But I'm not ready to give up just yet as I have a couple more ideas to try.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4544358755192295336.post-57591773286144766312016-10-10T16:54:48.549-07:002016-10-10T16:54:48.549-07:00It could have been the garden bed I used ... proba...It could have been the garden bed I used ... probably not loose enough soil for a root veggie. The plants never flowered at all, so not sure what else it could have been.Susiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10354350096358468967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4544358755192295336.post-19601445118974995162016-10-10T16:53:33.820-07:002016-10-10T16:53:33.820-07:00Yes, I've had an abundance of peppers for sure...Yes, I've had an abundance of peppers for sure. Did they not have time to produce well or did they just not grow well?Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00193278804750154921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4544358755192295336.post-12199468289238908252016-10-10T11:04:24.357-07:002016-10-10T11:04:24.357-07:00Too bad about the sweet potato yield but I guess y...Too bad about the sweet potato yield but I guess you never know until you try. I had to go check the forecast and we look OK for this week, but still chilly nights are here.David Veltenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07710293718143454000noreply@blogger.com
