Just so you know, for anyone who is looking to grow parsley from seed, it takes a while. My Italian Flat Leaf Parsley seeds were spread over some potting soil and have been left under fluorescent lights 16 hours a day and kept moist regularly.
I'm happy to finally see some signs of life! Today (day 15) is the first sign of a sprout. This is pretty regular from my experience of about 4 years growing it this way.
I grow a couple of different varieties of parsley an they usually are up within 10 or 11 days. Malabar spinach on the other hand...going on 24 days here already
Yup, that sounds right to me too. I just sowed mine a few days ago, so I've another week or so of waiting.
ReplyDeleteIt's a long time to wait, staring at a pot full of empty soil every day, waiting for something to pop up!
DeleteParsley is notoriously slow. But if you use it as much as I do, it is sure worth the wait!
ReplyDeleteThat's been my experience as well. It's always a happy occurrence when I find it volunteering in the garden.
