A small harvest this week including another clipping of the lettuce shown above. And a bonus harvest of a single parsnip and some fingerling potatoes while planting new crops in the respective areas. It is always fun to find a few leftovers from the fall harvest that were left undiscovered.
I am linking in to Harvest Monday hosted by
Our Happy Acres. Check it out to see what other gardeners are doing this week!
Gotta like the bonus harvests! The fresh salad greens are lovely.
ReplyDeleteTotally unexpected finding those potatoes, a happy surprise!
DeleteWell, there you have it - if I had a greenhouse, I would be harvesting fresh lettuce right now instead of wondering if the seedlings I transplanted this past weekend are going to get frostbite. And hurray for an unexpected harvest - I could really use one of those right about now.
ReplyDeleteActually, the lettuce was grown under the grow lights (for tomato and pepper seedlings). I guess if you don't mind having a dining room full of plants and lights, you can have fresh lettuce year-round! A few months of the year is all I can handle indoors though ...
DeleteGood luck on your transplants, definitely rough weather patches we've been having.
Love those 'found' harvests! I haven't seen any spuds yet but I did find a couple of carrots. Homegrown salads are always the best!
ReplyDelete"Found" harvests ... good term for it. I ALWAYS find potatoes the next year, obviously not doing a very good job harvesting.
DeleteYour lettuce leaves look so young and tender, and it must've been fun finding those potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy spring is finally here, and summer is just a breath away.
Such a lovely thought Phuong ... summer just a breath away.
DeleteI too love found harvests, such a treat.
